Detection Principle
UPotassium persulfate solution is added to the water sample for heating and dissolving for a period of time, the phosphorus in the water sample is converted into orthophosphate. After cooling, reducing agent and chromogenic agent are added, orthophosphate is reduced by ascorbic acid after reaction with ammonium molybdate and potassium antimony tartrate to generate a blue complex. The absorbance is detected at a specific wavelength, according to Lambert Beer's law, there is a linear correlation between the total phosphorus content in the water and the absorbance. Last the total phosphorus concentration in the water is detected.
